Addition

We have been using the part-whole model to investigate and explore addition. We have been thinking about how addition is made up of two parts that we bring together to make a whole.

If you need a reminder try watching the video below. Then you could use the sheet to make your own part whole models with different amounts or you could draw your part-whole model on a piece of paper. Remember make each part and then bring them all together to find the whole. Try it with as many different numbers as you can to practise.

Don't forget to email any work you do to your teacher.

Part-whole model

If you need a reminder about the part-whole model watch this video.

When you have practised have a go at the activity sheets, one sheet looks at making part whole models using pictures. The other is starting to think about what numbers are represented. If you can't print them off then write your answers on paper and number them.
