Activity 1

Reread the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, encouraging your child to join in with you and anticipate what comes next in the story. Use the resources below to cut and stick the pictures into the correct order of the story. Encourage your child to retell the story in their own words as they stick the pictures down.

If you don't have a printer, your child could draw the parts of the story or act it out.

Activity 2

Listen to the phonics lesson for the sounds 'ng' and complete the sheet below.

Activity 3

Complete the white rose hub maths challenge for today.

Activity 4

Talk to your child about what was at the top of the beanstalk in the story. Ask the children to think about and describe what they would want to be at the top of their beanstalk.

Ask your child to draw a picture of what they would like at the top of the beanstalk. Encourage your child to use their imagination.

Can they write some sentences about the top of their beanstalk with minimum adult help? Encourage your child to sound out their words to help spell them correctly.
