Free School Meals

Did you know that if your child is eligible for Free School Meals, the school receives extra funds to help support their learning, development and achievement?

There is no obligation to take the meal if your child would prefer sandwiches made at home, but you must register as eligible in order for us to receive the funding your child is entitled to. Registering for eligibility also entitles you to additional school funding such as free club sessions and free educational visits.

This is in addition to the Government’s offer of Universal Free School Meals for infants. All children up to Year 2 are able to receive a free hot dinner every school day. 

In order for your child to continue receiving free meals when they move to Year 3, you must be eligible for FSM and have registered with Walsall Council for Free School Meals (otherwise you may be charged).
