Key Worker update - what we know so far

As we are still awaiting the official Key Worker list from the Government. We have been given a 'provisional' list by Walsall Council. Please note this is a GUIDE and could change when the official list is made public. Walsall Council have indicated that presently if a parent/carer in a household falls into the key worker category and they don't have any suitable childcare, then they will be entitled to school support from Monday 23rd March. If you fall into this category you should contact the school to discuss the ability to opt into the support offer being provided by our school. The key worker list is as follows:-

Employees that work for:-

The National Health Service

The Armed Forces

Teachers, school staff and childcare staff

Care home workers

Social workers

Pharmacists

Police Officers, community support officers and civilian staff working for the police

Prison officers or other probation staff

Firefighters

Local authority officers directly engaged in contingency planning for Covid 19

Environmental health officers

Highway Agency traffic officers

Supermarket staff and supermarket delivery drivers

Employees of key infrastructure industries such as gas/electricity

If as a parent/carer your job is in this list your child/ren can attend school should you need it. To ensure we can plan for this you need to call school on Friday 20th March on 01922 710871 or email school  postbox@invention-i.walsall.sch.uk

Remember this is a provisional Walsall list and not the official one from the Government - however as we are still waiting we would rather make plans for you all now rather than keep waiting for THE LIST!

Best wishes from all of us at New Invention Infant School - stay safe x
